Carabachuis: a seamless journey, fast on mobile

We removed friction across the entire journey: from discovering the game to paying without surprises. We organized critical images and scripts, stabilized checkout with Mercado Pago, and left clear metrics to make data-driven decisions. Result: a store that feels lightweight and trustworthy on mobile.

E-commerce (Woo + Mercado Pago + LSCache) — 10 days — LCP <2s · CLS <0.1

Context (The real problem)

Before, buying could stall due to small details that added up: heavy images shifting content, unclear checkout validations, and payment redirects with inconsistent states. On mobile, unstable TTFB and a sticky header caused visual reflow (CLS) and hesitation at the last step.

What we did — Performance

  • Implemented responsive images (srcset/sizes) and preloaded the hero to stabilize LCP.
  • Declared intrinsic width/height and refined enqueue order to eliminate CLS.
  • Tuned LSCache + QUIC.Cloud without breaking cart or checkout flows.
  • Reduced non-critical scripts and deferred third-party code beyond the LCP window.

What we did — Checkout & UX

  • Fixed Mercado Pago return/notify URLs and unified status handling for reliable confirmations.
  • Simplified validations and error microcopy so users understand and recover quickly.
  • Streamlined PDP → Cart → Checkout with immediate UI feedback and fewer steps.
  • Stabilized header behavior and added placeholders to prevent mobile content jumps.

Data & Measurement

  • Set up GA4 + GTM with an end-to-end e-commerce funnel.
  • Tracked view_itemadd_to_cartbegin_checkoutpurchase.
  • Ran QA with DebugView and real orders; documented assumptions and test cases.

Results (Before/After + dates)

  • Mobile LCP: ~3.1–3.6 s → <2.0 s (PSI mobile, 4G, 15–30/09/2025)
  • CLS: ~0.20–0.26 → <0.10 after placeholders + fixed header (PSI, 15–30/09/2025)
  • Stable payments: 0 errors during control window (MP logs/GA4, 15–30/09/2025)
  • Visible funnel: +10–15% begin_checkout → purchase (GA4, 09/2025 vs 08/2025)
Method note: PSI (mobile) with simulated 4G; GA4 with standard events and QA in staging before production.

What’s next (Next iteration)

  • Checkout microcopy A/B to drive +3–5% conversion.
  • INP optimization via script gating to reach <200 ms on PDP/checkout.
  • Guided bundles/combos for +5–8% AOV without visual noise.
  • Looker/Explorations with real-time alerts for conversion drops.
  • AVIF policy + selective preload to keep LCP consistently low.
